My psychology journey predates Unique Psychology, tracing back to 2010 when I pursued a major in Psychology in Brazil. Yet, even that isn't the starting of my journey.
From a young age, my sole aspiration was always clear - "I wanted to be helpful". At the tender age of five, I confided in my mom about my ambitious dream of becoming a "brain doctor." In my youthful innocence, I believed that I could surgically remove "sadness" as if it were a tangible entity. While my understanding of the intricacies of the human body has evolved, my unwavering passion for aiding others has remained constant.
In 2017, I embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Australia with my partner, two suitcases, our cherished wedding photo album, and a plush toy my mom had given me when I was three. Over the past five years, I worked as a Counsellor and Clinical Director for a prominent not-for-profit organization, extending support to farmers and farming families grappling with the aftermath of natural disasters. This experience deepened my connection with this beautiful country, providing insights into its people, values, and culture.
Prior to relocating to Australia, I sustained a private practice in Brazil for over two years, committed to delivering accessible psychological services to vulnerable individuals. With over 13 years immersed in the Health Industry, caring for people and dedicated to continuous learning, my journey has solidified my understanding that supporting people throughout their life's endeavours is not just a career, it is my purpose — my Ikigai 生きがい (Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for living.)
